About Us.

Who We Are.

We are a group of friends who share a passion for the outdoors. You will not find a harder-working or more honest team than ours. We pride ourselves on ensuring you have the best possible experience while chasing your trophy. From the backwoods lodging to the opportunity to hunt some of the best caribou habitats in Manitoba, you cannot beat what Caribou Country Adventures has to offer.

What We Do.

We provide Manitoba resident hunters with an opportunity to harvest trophy Central Barren Land Caribou the province of Manitoba. Our hunts are fully equipped with everything needed to be successful. From lodging, food, watercrafts, and plane transportation from Snow Lake to camp and return, our goal is to provide clients with a relaxing experience without worrying about all the little details.

When It Happens.

Our Caribou hunts start the last Monday of August with 7, six-day camps leading into the first week of October. At this time of year, Caribou are making their way through the area towards the wintering grounds for the long winter ahead. This time of year, provides hunters with an excellent opportunity at a velvet antlered bull.

Where It Happens.

Our Caribou hunts occur along the shorelines of four bodies of water. Bulloch Lake (camp), Wolverine River, Inverarity Lake, and the Nejanilini River near the 60th parallel, center of Manitoba northern border.

Most Importantly - Why We Do It.

People often question why we put in the effort for others to hunt. The answer is simple. A true outfitter takes great pride in helping others succeed with hunting situations that might not be offered to them due to geography or ability. It is about sharing experiences, building friendships, and merging years of knowledge. The simple answer is... it’s fun!

Meet The Team.

Robert Karpiak
(Owner/Operator)

Robert is an award-winning hunter, outdoor writer, videographer, wilderness guide, and outfitter for over 30 years. Robert has guided for multiple big-game species, stretching from the Rocky Mountains of Alberta to the prairies of Manitoba. Robert first set foot on the tundra when he was only 10 years old, fishing these very waters with his father. 25 years later, Robert and his father, Tom, stepped back onto the tundra together for their first caribou hunting experience with Ron Rousset and Allan Sainon, former owners of Caribou Counter Adventures. Robert’s youthful passion for the tundra was the driving force behind his purchase of Caribou Country Adventures, allowing him to share and create memories with other Manitobans. When Robert is not outfitting caribou hunts or hunting for himself, you will find him out on the water, open or frozen, fishing or guiding black bear hunters with his other operation, Target Species Outfitting.

Simon Laplante
(Camp Manager)

Simon was born in Quebec and moved to Manitoba to work as an educator in the public school system in his early twenties. Simon fell in love with the prairie’s vast expanses, met his wife 40 years ago, and has never looked back. He had a successful career as an educator, making sure to establish a fishing club in every school he worked in. Simon believes that we should always share our passion for the outdoors with our kids.

Simon has been a camp manager for Caribou Country Adventures since 2014 after retiring. He loves meeting and serving people. He is also passionate about fishing and hunting, although he is probably a better fisherman than a hunter. Over time, he has learned the best areas for lake trout, grayling, and northern pike.

Simon is looking forward to meeting you on the beautiful tundra of Bulloch Lake!

Eric Wiens
(Camp Manager)

Eric is a semi‑retired engineer and former Vice President of a major architectural and engineering firm in Manitoba. Raised in northern Saskatchewan, he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors while fishing with his dad and hunting with his uncle.

Over the years, Eric has hunted across western Canada, pursuing moose, mountain goat, stone sheep, black bear, mule deer, whitetail, antelope, elk, and caribou. His deep experience in the wilderness—and his appreciation for the quiet beauty of the Canadian North—make him a natural fit at Caribou Country Adventures.

After joining the team in 2022, Eric was hooked. The combination of great people, incredible scenery, big fish, hearty meals, and unforgettable caribou hunts keeps him coming back each fall.

Eric looks forward to welcoming you to northern Manitoba and sharing the place that continues to inspire him year after year.

Robert Law
(Camp Manager)

Robert earns his living providing power to Canadians. Although he is an avid hunter himself, his true passion lies within the boreal forest, running his snowmachine up and down his trap line. Robert is, hands down, the workhorse of the team. His skills with a chainsaw and pure strength are invaluable.

Stephanie Reling
(Operations Coordinator)

Stephanie has been involved in the outdoor industry for over 20 years. Her involvement in the outdoors has led her to successfully chasing bear, whitetail deer, caribou, and Sitka deer, with her main passion being moose. She has also been involved in hunting across North America, spanning from Alaska to New Mexico, including animals such as mountain goats, mountain lions, and elk. This passion has led Stephanie into the guiding industry, where her organization is truly her greatest strength. Stephanie's involvement with all the behind-the-scenes portions of our camp is unmatched.
